An Area is one of the levels of District Structure. An Area typically has five clubs, although it may have more or fewer. An Area has an Area Director, Area Contests and an Area Council.

Areas, through the process of alignment, are given designations that indicate the Division in which they are located, and then a number. For example, Area C-1 is one of the five areas in Division C. Clubs may be moved by the District each year via realignment if needed.

Since Founders District in 2016-17 had ten Divisions, it had approximately fifty Areas.
