Coronavirus, known more formally as COVID-19, was a virus that became a worldwide pandemic in 2020, forcing major changes to the operations of Toastmasters International and Founders District. In our District, all physical meetings were cancelled and clubs explored going completely online. Contests at the Area, Division and District level were postponed and held online only, unless they had already been held beforehand. Toastmasters International notified members that extra time would be allowed for payment of dues.
The coronavirus situation required that many Toastmasters procedures be altered. For example, Toastmasters International quickly came out with altered rules for online contests. Other changes may be found elsewhere in this wiki under the relevant topic.
