An Elevator Speech is the colloquial name given to an encounter between an employee and a CEO in an elevator, or between any two people where one might want to take advantage of a fortuitous meeting. The employee will of course want to take advantage of the encounter, which will be brief in nature, by eloquently and cordially getting a message across.

Table Topics responses are very similar to Elevator Speeches, since they are impromptu and brief in nature, and yet they are speeches with an opening, a body and a conclusion, a make a point.
