A Pathways Guide is a person named by the District to visit clubs and explain the details of the new Pathways program. The concept differs from the ambassador who provided a more general overview when the rollout of Pathways was not so imminent. In addition, a Guide will get credit for serving, in the same way as a club mentor. Per the Toastmasters International website: "Your service as a Pathways Guide, Chief Ambassador, or Ambassador can be applied toward a DTM an award in lieu of the district leader service requirement; however, it does not fulfill any qualifications for any elected or appointed district leadership roles."
