Toastmasters meetings are usually open to the public, but open houses are a special event inviting lots of guests and prospects. An open house will often have food, decorations and perhaps an enticing speaker.

Open houses, to succeed, must be well-publicized to likely prospects and must have members ready to explain membership and the application process.
