The Protocol List is a list of dignitaries, updated from time to time by the District. It includes the names of people who should be announced as present at events such as Area/Division/District contests and other events that have a registration desk. Customarily the Master of Ceremonies or Toastmaster of the Day will read the names of dignitaries who are present. This is similar to the recognition of major politicians, celebrities or royalty at large public events.
A dignitary should wear his name badge to Area/Division/District events, and should also inform the registration desk of his presence. If the registration desk is not marking down dignitaries, then the dignitary should seek out the contest organizer to find out who keeping track of dignitaries in attendance.
