Social media is a very broad term for computer tools that help people exchange information in virtual settings. Common social media devices include Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, LinkedIn, Meetup, Twitter and even wikis.

Club Officers are often urged to use social media in their marketing efforts, but success depends just as much on Prospect Research, the Marketing Mix, and the quality of club meetings shown to prospects.

For instance, some clubs in Founders District report great success with Meetup while others report none.

The VPPR section in the Club Leadership Handbook describes some social media briefly.
