A Visual aid generally contains words or pictures which are used to illustrate a point, make a speech more interesting, or effectively organize a speech. Project number eight in the CC manual focuses on the use of visual aids.

Visual aids are permitted in speech contests if used within the rules of the Speech Contest Rulebook.

Visual aids such as PowerPoint presentations are often seen as a negative in speeches if they are full of words which the presenter simply reads. Instead, visual aids should be utilized to supplement the speech and make it more interesting or clear.
